Living at the edge of the lake

After our stay in Creston we could stay 2 nights near Nelson along the lake...only reachable by the small cable ferry.  We enjoyed the live on the shore with beach walks, campfires, a canoe trip on the lake (for the others due to lack of life jackets our size), playing in the sand, playing with rocks, sticking sticks in the mud, ...

Much to Kabouter's excitement, the railroad passed right along and he could wave to the train drivers who tooted back to him! We also found a lost railroad spike.

On a rainy day we went to the nearby hot springs.
