Too much summer in the city

The streets are deserted as if even the cars feel too hot to move.
Did everyone escape to the south of Europe where it's slightly cooler?

I don't want to move anymore
I just want to sleep
I don't want to twist and turn in my bed anymore
awake because of the heat and the noises that come through the useless open windows.

Seriously, this heat is too much
I don't feel comfortable.
I curse at all time heat records that get broken
I feel old (my teenage self would consider me old)
and also worried about this climate

I am counting down to the weekend
where the daytime max temp will be tonight's temperature
and where hopefully we'll dance in some rain
