Going for a little vacation at grandma

Kabouter had a school trip to the sea (reduced from multiple days to just one),   Beertje has mandatory school time as of next year so we can't take him out of school anymore for a trip or so and  my mother has been impatient in this pandemic to spend more time with her grandchildren. 

And so we decided that Beertje could go on a little vacation with his grandmother again, despite the fact that she just hasn't had her 2nd dose of the vaccination yet. A win-win-win for everybody involved. 

Because of changes in the weather predictions and grandma's plans to take Beertje also for one day to the beach, we rushed quickly to the train station after our visit to the abbey, 12 hours earlier than originally planned.  We succeeded to pack up in record time and be in time for a direct train, with a sad goodbye of Kabouter as result. 

As was to be expected, all goodbyes were quickly forgotten. Kabouter went with his classmates to the beach and at the same day, Beertje could spend a day at the coast with his grandmother. 

The rest of the days there was time for playgrounds, bike rides , etc and now and then some time for a quick digital hello to us.
