We keep on turning #wedraaiendoor: Zesde Metaal - In Vlaamse Velden

Each Tuesday and Thursday Anne from Satur9's World and myself, play a musical pingpong game where we choose a new music song based on each other's previous choice by association of a name, style, lyric, style, location or whatever crosses in our mind. We never know what the next song will be chosen and are forced to explore beyond our comfort zone due to each other's choices.

You can find our in the mean time long and fun playlist on Spotify and op Youtube. Subscribing to it is possible!

"The Dutch mountains"...what a cool song. How ironic too.  Typical Dutch to exaggerate.  Two songs crossed my mind immediately:

  • Jaques Brel - Le plat pays  (=> but we already featured this song in our series in the past)
  • Bart Van Den Bossche - De heuveltjes van Erika

While the Heuveltjes van Erika stuck in my mind for a long time and it is a really good ironic follow-up, I truly didn't want to choose this song...
Nope I needed some Dutch  or Belgian landscaping or true mountain songs.  Plenty of choice, but only het Zesde Metaal really touched me and stuck.

  • Blof - Aan de kust
  • Johan Verminnen - De Vlaamse Ardennen
  • Berre Bergen en de Kreuners
  • Bazart - Hoge bergen
  • John Denver - West Virginia
  • 't Hof van Commerce - Kemmelberg
  • Raymon van 't Groenenwoud - Vlaanderen boven
  • Adele - Rolling in the Deep
  • 't Goede Doel - België
  • Mavin Gaye - Tammi Terrell - Ain't mountain high enough
  • Jean Ferrat - La Montagne
