Made in Belgium: Virtual Zone

After 2 weeks of Eurovision stuff, we go back to the 90ies for some more serious techno beats.  Let's dance!

Did we take the ferry to Yvoire or to Venice?

it turned out some Venice carnival groups were strolling the streets of Yvoire, much to the delight of all the tourists including myself. Eager to pose , they were quite a colorful attraction in the old streets.

Just a short and nice ferry ride away from Geneva to the other (French) side of the lake is the pittoresque little town's quite touristy and some of the streets with little stores feel a bit like a tourist trap, yet it is very nice & small at the same time, with its castle, port and ramparts.  I can recomment visiting it while in the area of Geneva lake!

Made in Belgium: Xandee

Since I'm still in the Eurovision songcontest mood, here is the Belgian participant Xandee from 2004.   She was not succesfull but I've always been a fan of this rhythmic upbeat song (even though her singing doesn't seem very strong in this recording).   Beats this year's participant in my mind, but hey...I'm not televoting Europe.

When in Geneva we also ventured out back into France to visit some quite French towns in the Annecy.  A small historic town with small streets and canals crossing it, at the edge of a mountain lake. Unfortanately the weather didn't allow us to marvell at the cliffs and nearby peaks. But strolling over the market was great although I soooooo wanted to eat a local saucisson but I'm not allowed to eat them right now. Bummer....I'll do plenty of catching up in the fall, know what you can get me then ;).

My eternal quest

In between the downpours

After a week of rain, a more wet weekend was predicted, be followed by a drowning week next week (even chance for some snow in Ardennes!?!?).  But amazingly it was sunny on Sunday morning so we delayed our planned schedules for a quick walk before the threatening clouds came too close.

the nearby "Ravel" , formerly raintrack bikeroad seems now finally officially opened.

In the afternoon I still made my planned renovation chores, correcting some wallpaper and started to paint the sides of the hallway doors. I was nearly done when some friends arrived , in time to all go out for dinner.
Good busy and tiring day!!

Our future garden is a construction site

....but full of potential of the space it'll become.
No more little slopes, lost unusual meters, weird unstable little walls, bits and pieces everywhere that you can't use at all.  Nope instead of all that 2 flat big levels...simple but efficient & usuable, clear but smaller parking, bigger terrace, ...
