Time for a new sofa

Our old sofa's are about 25-30 years old. They date back from Jan's student time with his ex-girlfriend. They've lived for a few years at his brother's appartment and moved back when he bought our house 21 years ago just before I met him.

They served well but have discolored, have stained and have torn.  We fixed it with plaids and we fixed it with covers. But when the covers were all worn out and baggy and the cleaning lady had tried to express to us somehow that she had no clue how to get those seats clean again, we knew it was time to finally invest in some new seating.   We had already been browsing and looking for a while without concrete action.
But now the children have left toddlerhood so we hope that a new sofa will not be spilled right away.  We drove to the store and made our decision rather fast.

Before

with a plaid

with a baggy cover

ready for take-away (with a check that nothing got hidden by accident in the covers)

After

Since we often lay down in the sofa (or crawl in the corner in our corner version in the Ardennes) we've opted for a fairly large corner model here with a movable pouf. It takes more space and will require a new smaller sofa table . But we are quite happy.

All ready and done to find the best spot to watch the season's final of Thuis on tv.
