We keep on turning #Wedraaiendoor: The Doors - Light my Fire

Each Tuesday and Thursday Anne from Satur9's World and myself, play a musical pingpong game where we choose a new music song based on each other's previous choice by association of a name, style, lyric, style, location or whatever crosses in our mind. We never know what the next song will be chosen and are forced to explore beyond our comfort zone due to each other's choices.

You can find our in the mean time long and fun playlist on Spotify and op Youtube. Subscribing to it is possible!

Telstar was quite an original choise made by Anne this Tuesday. I know the song through Willies & Marjetten on tv.

It sent me searching for other tv-tunes, for instrumental songs, ...

But in the end I really wanted a song with an organ. Preferably a Hammond organ. You might not realise but the Hammond organ was quite a hot instrument even in well known hits.

  • Procol Harum - Whiter shade of pale   (1967)
  • The doors - Light my fire  (1967)
  • Vaya Con Dios - What's a woman (1990)
  • Deep purple - Child in time  (1970)

Quite a difficult choice because each one of them is so terrific. In the end I choose the Doors , because I picture the iconic poster of Jim Morrisson and I find it quite funny to combine this teenage idol image with ...a hammond organ.
