Duwmee (part 2)

So the weekend before Christmas was all about #duwmee and Mobile School.  A great tradition that we could pick up again since 2019.

After racing half a day before stops to take pictures and post on the social media, the other tradition is that I join with my family to walk together the last lapse of the walk.  My sister, brother-in-law and my mother joined as well to go with the 559 others for the last 5 kms at dusk to return to the city center.

We all arrived at the Heilig Hart school in Heverlee, where we explored the mobile school again , listened to the concerts, and stood in line for the dough balls that had a logistic issue and created a too long waiting line for which the group even left late.

But then we turned on our lights, and started marching throughout the neighbourhoods from Heverlee, through the castle park of Arenberg castle.

Once we crossed the ring road, we walked through the gorgeous beguinage, then to the old and big Market Square...Leuven at its best in the wintertime.  We looked around and took pictures of our surroundings and the people there took pictures of this long yellow crowd with flags and lampoons that walked by for minutes.

And then with a little extra detour that began to be rather painful for my feet, we arrived at our end-point near the offices of Mobile School where the tour started that morning. The circle was round.
We celebrated 20 years of Mobile School with nice snacks of the local hotel school, with fire acts, drums, speeches, ...

and with the reveal of a great amount of 33000 euro that DuwMee had gathered that day!  What a day that was.
