A rubber duck race

Leuven hosts each year a rubber duck race on the river as some sort of good cause fundraiser tombola.  We had purchased duckies in the past, but we had never attended the race itself. This year we went downtown to check it out.

At first there didn't seem much people around, although there is some sort of village with food stands and drinks and child animation and big screens to follow the race.

By the time the ducks had to be released in the water, there was quite a good crowd along the river and it was hard to find a spot with some view.
I amused myself with the boy and many other people to run along the river to see the progress of the 15000 floating rubber duckies. Quite amusing, especially since there was a live reporter discussing as if it is some sort of sport event.

Unfortunately, the rubber duckies we sponsored didn't win anything but we had fun. This was quite amusing.
