Books I've been reading this fall & winter
Een paradijs aan zee - Elin Hilderbrand
There's some jetset living on one of the richs old money islands in north-east USA and there is adultery, there's money issues hidden, there's struggling adolescents and an author with writer's block who takes revenge.
But don't bother to read.
De Schilder - Nora Roberts
The story isn't very credible but a housesitting author is witness of a murder and ends up in a relationship with his talented gorgeous very rich brother and together they hunt for the killers...or the killers still hunt for them.
Apart from the not so credible storyline, it's entertaining and smooth writing

Het Eiland - John Grisham
My first Grisham that is not a legal thriller. I sometimes forgot it was a Grisham.
It was a thriller but a bit of a love story as well when a broke author has to go undercover to get closer to a potential connection from a brilliant audacious and worthy robbery before. She gets into an inner circle of authors and publishers which is sometimes a bit boring, sometimes a bit strange but when the robbers are still around it is also thrilling. And with Grisham you sometimes wonder who are the good guys and who are the bed.
It was good reading but not at the level of other Grishams.

Het geheim van de Zwarte Tulp - Lauren Willig
Spying during the Napoleontic wars, turns out to be a lot more boring than I anticipated. It was more about who is who (and who is romantically involved with who) rather than politics.
Don't bother to read. It took me a long time to finish this.

Het perfecte plaatje - Jane Fallon
After I struggled way too long with the previous book and passed my library deadlines and head to return a couple of unread books. So I longed for a book that would made me smile and read smoothly in just a couple of days and therefore I picked another Jane Fellon.
She didn't disappoint. As always you get introduced to someone who fakes a ideal image (this time on a dating app) and others who find out and take revenge.
