We keep on turning #wedraaiendoor : Michael Franti & Jovanotti - The sound of sunshine

Each Tuesday and Thursday Anne from Satur9's World and myself, play a musical pingpong game where we choose a new music song based on each other's previous choice by association of a name, style, lyric, style, location or whatever crosses in our mind. We never know what the next song will be chosen and are forced to explore beyond our comfort zone due to each other's choices.

You can find our in the mean time long and fun playlist on Spotify and op Youtube. Subscribing to it is possible!

Anne sent me on Tuesday in a wonderful Christmas spirit with "What's this".  Great intriguing song, good energy, optimistic vibe. I wanted something the same.

I've first explored a lot of Gabriel Rios songs but looking for the same pulsing rhythm didn't quite work out.  I do hope to find an opportunity to post Gold one day... I did have the Christmas atmosphere with the copper instruments in it.  But I passed.

  • Gabriel Rios: Gold (Christmas sphere, coppers)

The time ticking sound, brought me to Pink Floyd with Time

Another obvious choice is one of the 3 other "Music for Life" theme song, but honestly, I don't like them all so much.

  • Fixkes & Axelle Red - Over 't Water
  • Selah Sue & Tom Barman vs. The Subs - Zanna
  • Portland - Don't stop believin'

I searched for an answer to the question "What's this" in different languages.

  • Amy Mc Donald - This is the life
  • David Bowie - This is not America
  • Pulp - this is hardcore
  • Claude: C'est la vie
  • Ishtar : C'est la vie
  • Khaled : C'est la vie
  • jean-michel jarre:
  • Frank Alamo
  • Guus Meeuwis : Het is een nacht

But I still wasn't happy.  And then I wanted to reflect the sun and Springtime more so I jumped to Franti and felt happy by this song. Perfect for the glorious weather we currently enjoy.

  • Michael Franti - the sound of sunshine
