Kabouter's confirmation (part 1)
June 7 was the date that Kabouter was celebrating his confirmation in the Catholic Church. After a year of some church catechismus sessions with a few other children of his age in a nearby parish, it was time to voice out his own baptism promises and get the anointment sacrament.
I felt he was less nervous and more self-confident than for his first communion, when he was less aware of what it was all about and what would happen. Now he just had some excitement stress which felt positive.

In a nice, not too much over the top service, led by our spontaneous dean of Leuven, the moment of the sacrament arrived. I must say, I was very strongly touched and emotional by the symbolism and the beauty of Kabouter preceding and getting the literal physical support from his godfather and godmother on his shoulder.
Big smiles afterwards!
We had joked that we could not sneak out the church early because he was assigned to read the final thank-you word of the service, which he did very calmly and firmly.
Congratulations to all the boys and girls!!
