Wine paring workshop

My friend that had invited me in the past on a wine walk through Leuven organised by the Young Wine Club Leuven, had sent me the info on their wine pairing workshop early March.  Since I really appreciated the last activity, I was quickly in the mood to enroll.   We fixed a babysit and off we were on a Friday evening.

The setting was conveniently in the city center of Leuven so we could just walk there without worries of designated drivers or taxis.

We settled at a long table with about 24 people of which many seemed to know each other from previous tastings or workshops.

The concept of the evening was to get 5 truly delicious and precious little dishes and each time 2 accompagnying wines of the same grape (but different regions etc...).  We tasted them before the food and then after having the food. Remarkably the "taste" and favourite of the wines often shiften as soon as the food was tasted as well.  Incredible to taste and remark how your taste and preference change when you combine it with food.  But all wines and food were all very good on its own.

The evening took longer than anticipated so Jan rushed home before me to release our babysit.  After all the delicious wines I clearly had had enough by the end of the evening and I truly appreciate my friend and her partner walking me home to be entirely certain everyone got home well and safely. Together out, together at home, right, that's important. We must take care of each other, so I was also greatfull to have good friends.
And yes, the next day was rather slow but she can let me know again if there's another activity once more.
