Count your blessings - July 2026
- Seat airco in Jans car. Yep, the opposite of seat heating exists too.
- Having meals outside: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Sitting outside at the table with a coffee or a glass of wine and having the time.
- Seeing the tomatoes grow spectacularly
- A friend who takes the effort after I received disappointing news. Much appreciated.
- A lavender buzzing with bees, butterflies, ....
- Reading a book start to finish in one day
- The boys testing new sports on some local camps and having fun
- The ease of the boys walking to and from the playground on their own. Ah the independence.
- City playground services that are closeby and cheap and that the boys still like. Fun to see that they also have well adapted activities for a teenager group. "The best ever" is Kabouter's review.
- Having neighbours around that you can call for help for: to water plants of pet the cat or in medical emergency or when someone has a mouse in the living room...
- A samaritan neighbourhood doctor showing up when I really needed help when blocked with acute lumbago (and the doctor's on duty was not responding)
- Strong painkillers. Lots of them.
- Meeting up with our Texan friends in Maastricht for a lovely dinner
- Watching a cow give birth in the field next to us
- Seeing fun pictures half way the scouting camp
- Walking along the gorgeous summer fields behind the abbey to pick-up yoghurt at the CSA farm
- Watching the entire season 7 of Virgin River
- Visitors in the east of Belgium
- Job opportunities (despite the low summer period)
