Saint Paul de Vence
Just before our return to the airport, during our little vacation at the Côte d'Azur, we drove a little land inwards to visit the artistic medieval fortified town Saint Paul de Vence. It's only located a 20 min drive from the Nice airport.
From the parking lot we had a beautiful view on the old city and then we walked via some stores towards the old pedestrian city which we accessed through a big city gate. During 3 hours we strolled at our most ease a few times through the several streets (there's not so many) and ramparts. We ate pancakes and we ate ice-creams. The city is filled with art galleries for modern art and ateliers of current artists. Those aren't very practical to visit with 2 little enthousiast toddlers running around, but they also enjoyed "window" shopping for the art and looking at all the exposed colorful objects from the windows.
It was a delightfull afternoon to close off our week of vacation in the south of France
