Mini golf to close off the summer vacation

The boys noticed a mini golf terrain for the first time in St Valéry sur Somme but we did not have the time to play then.  But I got the vision of us playing together as a family and the little ones discovering the game.  I felt like playing and I promised myself to take them to a minigolf in the 2nd and last week of our vacation back in Belgium.

But that was easier said than done. I knew 2 minigolf terrains in the east of Belgium: the first one in Butgenbach was closed for renovation when we arrived. And the 2nd one in Malmédy was supposed to be open but the gate was locked and there was nobody around.   Grrr.

So in the end we used our last chance on in the evening of August 31st, we biked in Leuven to the Provincial Domain where we have never taken our boys before (shame on us, we didn't even end up there during the lockdown!).  And hurray hurray, we could play minigolf!  It was a great closure of the summer.

Beertje played in a style which was something in between hitting the ball and sweeping it as if he was holding the broom in a curling game.  Kabouter was more interested to learn better techniques and tried hard to practise and improve.  I think we'll be back.
