The men of 72 met Abraham in Leuven

 

So I missed the Abraham celebration in Leuven last week where Jan with the other Men of the year 1972 got honored for their 50th birthday due to our trip to the ER.  So I borrowed some pictures. 
They first had speeches at the Abraham statue in the city park, where their little plaque got added to the collection of previous years.  

The Men of 82 became the active year in bloc 2,  taking over of the men of 72.  They dressed Kamerood Sesteg with their polo and logo. Their flag gets the federation tag this year. 

In the city center it was the Men of 72's turn to dress up the famous statue of Fonske with a mini version of the group's costume and shirt. 

And then there is a big reception given by the city of Leuven to all the Men with some more speeches of the celebrating presidents.  I was glad to arrive at this moment and still be able to join them for a moment. 

We did combine it all with a very quick visit to the nearby fair. 

In the evening we joined all the 50th and 60th year olds of Leuven (also those not part of the Men of the Year) for a concert of Buurman.  It had been ages since I had attended a concert and that felt quite good.
