To the Baheyon fall with both boys

I was alone with the boys in the east of Belgium thanks to their schoolfree day and I needed to get my mind off a potential diagnosis and other stuff so I wanted a good challenging walk.

Beertje remembered our walk to the Baheyon fall without Kabouter and we were both convinced he'd love it.  I checked whether we had good shoes for what I remembered as a very incredibly muddy walk.  We looked up our worst shoes and left.

Around the Peak Brewery where we took off there were still lots of people, but quickly in our decent we were on our own.  The walk is a bit challenging with a trail that is covered in tree roots and little rock ridges but at least this time it wasn't slippery wet and much less muddy.

We started to spot lots of frogspawn (or toadspawn) in the puddles in the woods.

We spotted a lizard which is on the picture next to the left green leave

We conquered the zone that got us almost stuck in the mud last time

After a lot of time....we took our time to study toad spawn and skit rocks in the water and ..and... we arrived at the Baheyon waterfall.

From there we still had to climb up and continue the most boring third of the walk along the Botrange forest. We all found ourselves tired and grumpy and without water.  Hmm lovely walk but those last 2 kms were a bit too much to our energy level.
