Out for dinner at Rossi's, the Italian chef of the year

The children were 5 days gone at the same time so we took the opportunity to go yet again out for dinner. This time we had a reservation at Rossi in Leuven, who has been elected as the Italian chef of the year in 2018. I knew it was a good Italian...not the type of "spaghetti / pizza" one but I had never been there.

The window of the tiny place boasts since a decade "Slow food".   We take place on a tiny table at elbow distance of our neighbours, with a plastic red/white striped table cloth but with a good view on the tiny kitchen where the chef and his crew are busy.

You can't choose the menu...just the number of dishes of the menu that is valid at that day (3-5 or 6).  Trust the chef's expertise to serve delicate Italian dishes with attention to fresh ingredients.

A little octopus starter

Burrata with grilled tuna and citrus fruits

Red mullet in a cold stock "pizzaiola"

Ravioli caprese

I don't have a picture of the swordfish

Watermelon gely with lemon ice
