A new reunion with my Australian host sister in Geneva

It had been 11 years that I had been in Geneva.  That means it had also been 11 years since I last met my Australian host sister who now lives over a decade in Geneva.  After she lived with us when I was only 11 years old, we reunited at my wedding which was so incredible and then had some visits in 2010 and 2013 respectively.

And than both our lives with our respective families was quite busy, and somehow we never made it work to visit anymore.  What a shame.  Nevertheless, we stay in touch, especially my mom and her have regular contact.

When Jan had booked our short-ski flights to Geneva and we had to check out in the French Alps on Sunday morning while our flight was at night, it did not take much thought or contact to arrange a visit and reunion with her again.

After our drive from Les Houches through the city center of Geneva, we arrived at her home where we were welcomed so warmly and spontenously.   I had briefed her on my accident, so I was quickly guided to a comfortable chair while my eye bags were sweetly ignored. The boys got out of the car and immediately were taken part into a game of cricket.

We simply sat, drank, caught up and enjoyed spending time together while our boys connected with her children and nephews that were coming by.  The cats got harassed by us, and we enjoyed a nice early meal together before we had to say goodbye again.

She and her husband, the sweethearts, escorted us to the airport as to help to get us through with all our luggage from the car rental to the check-in now that I was rather useless in help and just trying to make my steps through myself.
