Back to school and back to work

After 4 weeks of time off and time together with our family, it was time to return to reality.

The boys were looking forward to starting in grade 3 and 6 and to return to their friends at school.

After 4 years of renovation and construction, is the renovated school almost finished. Almost.  For the first time we see a lovely white facade that is renovated, which has been in scaffolding all year and before just a grey neglected old wall.  The school was hidden behind it with very old olddated buildings that truly needed to get pulled down a few years ago.  Fortunately the city art owl has been saved, as well as the old facade which is a historic convent school nearby the Park Abbey.

Behind the owl is now the new building that should be finished by October so for a month the children will need to navigate around the polyvalent central room that still needs to get finished.

And behind is the old "new" building in wood and the big garden that is now so empty since all the classroom tents that have been here for 4 years have disappeared again. Funny how the children can't remember their soccer field anymore and stare a bit surprised at the big empty field.

Still some construction zones left

Cabinets are getting drilled when the first children arrive already.

For me it was the return to the office but I found my badge, managed to remember my login and last minute also remembered to grab my computer glasses.

Jan shaved off his month old vacation beard and also picked up work and also the cat got in the usual routines again.
