An autumn walk along the Fosse d'Eupen

Mid October I took the boys to the east of Belgium while Jan still had appointments in Leuven.  As a result Rodin was staying in Leuven as well.

On Saturday afternoon Jan joined us and we'd drive to Eupen to pick him up at the train station.  Passing there without a cat in our car, gave us the opportunity to stop at the Hertogenwald which we always cross by car but which we hardly ever visit.

I parked an hour before we had to pick up Jan at the Porte de Drossart parking lot along the N68 halfway Eupen and the signal de Botrange.  There we followed a 5km loop walk along the "Fosse d'Eupen".   It was surprisingly sunny and was blinded most of the time as I had not brought my shades.

The many ferns had all turned colours, and it was just stunningly amazing.  I had done this walk 9 years ago (it's so practical if my blog can serve as my memory :p) but back then it wasn't nearly as stunning as it was this time.  What a blissful perfect 1 hour outdoors was this.
