Networking in Mechelen

I've been very very busy in March, in a real working mode despite not having a job.  But I have a job: searching a job and that takes a lot of effort and preperation to hopefully succeed in coming months.  I really enjoy my outplacement and the structure offered to prepare.  I also enjoy online courses and workshops.

But one of the to do's is also to network network network.  When I saw a free event of some expertise center, I subscribed.  So I took the train to Mechelen and first enjoyed a walk through the city.  Mechelen is a city that I hardly ever visit but that seems very enjoyable.

I was really interested in the speaker that would come, less in the "networking reception" linked to it, but I showed up right from the start anyway to ensure I forced myself to talk to others enough.  The constant annoying question as conversation starter by others was "and you work in which company". Ugh.  But I managed to be sociable and even stuck around to almost the last ones.  It paid off: I'll probably enroll in one of their future leadership training sessions. Yeay!
