The cows are back in the field at the Park Abbey
We stayed at home previous weekends because Kabouter was studying again for his Easter exams. And we suffered from hay fever and were miserably tired with aching eyes. And the weather was whimsical cold.
But I noticed the publicity on Facebook that the CSA farm that we are member of near the abbey was hosting its event to let the cows back in the field for a first time after the winter. They've held this event already a couple of years and I had seen on local tv that sometimes even up to 300 people show up. In the past many classmates of Beertje had attended so when he heard, he really wanted to go.
So we went last Sunday afternoon to the fields next to the abbey where fences were ready for crowd control and security (for crazy cows?). The crowd wasn't too big this time as it was so uuncomfortably icy cold. After a little clever marketing speech by farmer Tom for the CSA farm, the went to get the cows in the stable at the abbey grounds.
Before heading home we bought some more ice cream from these cows to take home to our student who could eat it in the warmth.
