Count your blessings - September 2026
- Starting a new job
- Sending the boys off to school again with a smile
- The return of the parakeets flying over the neighborhood in the morning
- A huge flock of storks flying over the highway
- Biking partially to work in the sun
- Going out for lunch with my mom on her birthday
- Having a car again which gives me more freedom independent from Jan's planning
- The boys walking in the parade of the Men of the year again
- Being at the judo club steak festival with some other parents
- Appetizers
- 2 big deer next to the road
- Grass growing back on the High Fenns boglands...giving hope for the resilience of nature that hopefully the boglands will one day be restored
- Beertje printing in 3D funny & cute objects
- Free tickets for the UEFA Women Champions League game for OHL
- Lovely Indian Summer weather
- Having a little spare fridge in the basement (for wine, beer and excessive yoghurt ) when our fridge dies out and it takes a few weeks to deliver a new one.
- Reconnecting with my Canadian host families and friends (in sadness) and planning a Canada trip (despite a sad trigger)
- Still harvesting tomatoes in our garden
- Shorts and T-shirt weather at the end of September. (Rationally I know this is not a blessing but it was sure nice to walk outside in the heat these last days).
- A bunch of noisy sparrows living in a half rotten roof drain on our way to school

As the world often seems full of negativity and disaster, I want to pay attention to these small things that make me happy in my daily life and be grateful for them. You can find all of them via this link
