Normandy themes: part II

France is squattered by old historic cities and Normandy is no exception. I so love it!

IV) Very old cities with gothic lace decorating the buildings, fortresses, narrow streets with cobblestone, ...

V) Timber framed traditional houses

VI) Churches and abbeys and more churches and more abbeys.

I didn't know this was possible but in 4 days I have reached my saturation point! I didn't even know I had a saturation point in visiting churches and abbeys etc.

@Brian: yes our generations wouldn't be able to make such intricacy anymore...who would invest in a building that will be finished over 2 centuries????

@rozebril: alle plaatsen staan eronder hoor :p

@Doug: with pleasure!

This is beautiful! I can't wait till we have the time/money to make a trip to France...well we've been to Lille, but that doesn't count.

Gorgeous photos -- this looks like an amazing vacation in an amazing place. I love those cathedrals with all that careful attention to every detail. It would be nice sometimes if we could think beyond the next three months and think about building a cathedral or making a road that will last for centuries.
