Made in Belgium: Senne Guns

Why...why does Senne Guns sounds so Dutch?   He clearly sings Flemish Dutch without any northern accent but I can't help but hear a bit of Frank Boeijen. The precision of texts, good articulation, the importance of texts, the pure music... I love it. I read that he has worked and toured with Spinvis in the past, but I had no idea. Would it be possible that I hear Dutch influence because of that. Maybe it's all in my imagination. After all I also hear a bit of Yevgueni and Buurman in the music.
