Hamburg: walking along canals and the harbour and exploring the botanical garden

On Saturday afternoon in Hamburg we continued enjoying the Indian Summer and lovely temperatures with a walk from the historic city center towards the harbour.  After our little boat tour on the Alster see and some ice scream stop at the city hall, we now followed some pedestrian walkways along the canals into the direction of the city harbour.   There we encountered ship that were a bit taller and impressive than the Alster tour boats. We observed a bit but decided to postpone another boat tour for the harbour to the next day.  Everyone was tired and the children really wanted to ride the metro, so we headed back to the hotel to give our feet some rest.

After some resting, we headed back downtown to our booked restaurant with a detour through the Botanical Gardens at the bottom of our hotel.

Just before dinner, we hang out at the Jungfernstieg square again along the lake which seems like the best place to hang out and chill in Hamburg.
