The confederation of puzzle manufacturers warn the security council for risks of opening the pandemic restrictions too quickly
It has become clear in the recent months that the Belgian population has picked up the habit of puzzling as a way to distract themselves from the worries and frustrations of the Corona virus. The toy stores confirm a significant surge in puzzle sales and the industry has responded with agile production adaptations to meet the higher demand.
"We understand the essence of puzzling in the people's lives and take up our social responsibility to meet demand as much as possible. Much to our regret , we must report delivering delays now and then, especially due to logistic challenges".
Psychologist Thomas Blabla confirms to us that puzzling has true mindfull effects and recommends the continuation of this activity on a regular base in the coming weeks. A sudden break down of this activity can reactivate the stress hormone cortisol in the human body which should be avoided in these difficult times.
Feb 16:
Minister Good News Show announces that all Belgian citizens will receive a voucher to buy 3 puzzles before the end of the summer.
In the next security council, the proposition to give all Belgian citizens a buying voucher to purchase some new puzzles is set on the agenda. The Puzzle confederation responds with surprise and claims they have not been contacted for this measure. The production processes are already under pressure for the high demand so they warn that there can be significant delivery delays.
"Too little too late" can be heard in the opposition: this measure should have been granted 12 months ago. Spending this budgetary money now with the vaccination light at the end of the tunnel will only worsen the budgetary deficit at the cost of us all.

Minister Good News Show announces that he had a constructive discussion with the puzzle confederation.
The plan to grant every Belgian a puzzling voucher this year has become more clear. Each citizen will receive a code to order once every 3 months 1 puzzle out of a special pandemic collection that all manufacturers will produce together. There will be in total 5 different but images so that each family member on average work on a new puzzle that cannot be in their possession yet. They will be unique collector's items. Collectively working on the same puzzle will boost the 11 million team spirit in the country.
In the mean time, many puzzle image suggestions have been posted on Twitter to mock the idea. Cartoons show among other distorted puzzle images featuring Mister Good News Show. Another set of criticism is set both by the association of big families as the support groups for happy singles. While big families with more than 3 children feel neglected to receive only 5 different images every 3 months, singles claim being discriminated against since they can never have the opportunity to gather the full collection. Fear rules that puzzles will be sold against ridiculous amounts on the 2nd hand market.

The website for the national puzzling boost has been taken offline again after technical difficulties
The launch of the national puzzling boost seems to be doomed. After many discussions and delays , it was finally launched this morning. However early users claimed they had difficulty to subscribe and received no codes or on the contrary multiple codes. The confirmation messages showed different puzzling images. There is also public outcry since the number of puzzle pieces per box had been reduced contrary to earlier promises. "We are getting mocked at by baby puzzles" was posted by popular Influencer Fake Smile on Instagram.
Mister Good News Show says that his cabinet is investigating the matters but points to the responsibility of the puzzle confederation who had insisted working with a doubtful technical IT supplier. Probably it are only some child diseases and all problems should be resolved in the coming days. Citizens with issues this morning can contact the service desk that will be operational as of next Wednesday during each lunch time.
