Searching for beavers along the Amblève in Ligneuville
While I was still keeping my eye on the meteo radar, Jan urged the boy to get ready for a walk to search for beavers. Wait a bit, but all I could do was throw some rain jackets in the car.
Indeed, the shower arrived when we parked in Ligneuville but Jan was right: it's often not as bad as it seems when you walk through it compared to the rain drops ticking on the window.
Counter intuively to a "beaver walk" along the river, we started our walk by climbing up the hills around Ligneuville. We had an excellent view to the opposite side of the valley where we had recently walked in Thirimont and done some physical excercise. I hoped this time we'd see the river a bit closer than last time.

The boys hopped through the woods like little dear
Finally we descended swiftly to the river and right away we could see beaver marks on the trees.
It was a really pleasant walk through the marsh valley filled with fresh little birsh.
Back in Ligneuville we passed one of the local trout farms that are famous in this region...the great fresh local trout of the Ardennes.
