The Folon foundation

The last weekend of November, Jan was off on a friend's weekend and I decided to drive with the boys to a museum: the Folon Foundation.  I had seen references to this museum before and images of his man with the hat sculptures. But to be honest I did not really know Folon well as I soon found out in the museum.

The museum is in some former farm buildings on the domain of the Hoeilaart.  We first had to walk a bit through the wide castle park.

In the museum I learned that Folon is far more than just a sculptor but more a famous painter, drawer, ... I recognized images of pigeons but I really loved his boat images and the pastel colours that made it all very poetic.

In the last halls were some installations that were simply so poetic and touching: a man on the beach and a man in space.

I came out of the museum with so much more appreciation for the artist of Folon. I became a fan.
