We keep on turning #wedraaiendoor: Taylor Swift- thanK you aIMee
Each Tuesday and Thursday Anne from Satur9's World and myself, play a musical pingpong game where we choose a new music song based on each other's previous choice by association of a name, style, lyric, style, location or whatever crosses in our mind. We never know what the next song will be chosen and are forced to explore beyond our comfort zone due to each other's choices.
You can find our in the mean time long and fun playlist on Spotify and op Youtube. Subscribing to it is possible!
Anne was so proud by choosing a 2024 song for once with Kendrik Lamar - Not like us.
I was first searching for songs that made us belong to a group or not at all.
- Joan Osborne: One of us
- Charles Aznavour - Comme nous
- The Architekt - you don't belong here
- Taylor Swift: you belong wiht me
But I was more intrigued by Kendrik Lamar's public row with Drake where he accuses him quite explicitally in this song. It made me do some research of starts that have fall outs and public conflicts with each other. There are plenty.
But how many actually refer to them in their song lyrics?
I dug into Kanye West / Ye and his ongoing discussions with Taylor Swift whom he humiliated in 2009 at the MTV Video Awards. Since then it's been pinging back and forth. His 2016 song "Famous" refers to her quite directly again but I really didn't want to post a song by Ye here on my blog.
So I took Taylor's much more discrete answer with Taylor Swift- thanK you aIMee (or sometimes graphically displayed as Taylor Swift- thank You aimEe ....Kim & Ye and in general against all bullies). And with that I also posted a 2024 song. Yeay.
