We keep on turning #wedraaiendoor: The Carpenters - (They long to be) Close to you

 

Each Tuesday and Thursday Anne from Satur9's World and myself, play a musical pingpong game where we choose a new music song based on each other's previous choice by association of a name, style, lyric, style, location or whatever crosses in our mind. We never know what the next song will be chosen and are forced to explore beyond our comfort zone due to each other's choices.

Anne presented us with some Soul Kitchen by the Doors.  I first thought of more kitchens and cooking. Aaah great opportunity to get some UB40 for example.  Also some very wrong Dutch songs, haha, that would surprise Anne.

But to me it was all too much in contrast with the original song by the Doors.  So I focussed on the doors itself and thought of Carpenters.  With the song "Close to you" it also aligned with the lyrics of Soul Kitchen where they also long to be with somebody.
