Celebrating New Year with friends
We celebrate New Year's Eve each year with the same group of friends...some of them we only see on New Year's Eve (because they all link to some shared friends).
This time we were hosted by some of our close friends and Jan and our friend agreed to do the cooking together.
During our stay in the east of Belgium I had had the joy to get the task to peel a lot of grey shrimp for the shrimp croquettes. Then the boys made loads of meat/cheese and shrimp croquettes. They also tested their fresh pasta skills. I wasn't complaining since I only had to do some pre-tasting and approve.
And on the last day of the year I had a quiet empty home to myself for most of the day since my 3 men were off to our friends to do the cooking there.

In the evening we all got refreshed and gathered for a cosy evening together. Nothing special, just friends around a table and good food and conversations.
A little who am I guessing game woke us up again before midnight.
And then both boys had asked to prepare a desert. Kabouter wanted to bring his succesful contest desert from his scouting camp: crepes with cinamonn apples and a bit of ice cream. (damn they cook well on that grassfield ) and Beertje had seen a fun youtube movie with banana's so he was going to prepare some Christmas banana men.
Stuffed too much we entered the new year with cheers and light sticks. Let 2026 bring some positive changes! Let it be a good one.
