Wild daffodils in the Warche valley
Daffodils are called 'Easter flowers" in Dutch. They flower indeed often in the Easter period, more or less in March/April. While you see them everywhere in city parks and gardens...they grow into the wild in the east of Belgium. The valley of the Warche and the Warchenne near Malmédy, Waimes and Butgenbach fill with big patches of daffodils along the river but also in the grass fields and edges of the woods. I love it.
When I saw it the first time years ago, I was very surprised that this was a wild flower.
