On this day: May 11th

I all of a sudden realised I haven't done an "On this day" in ages.  So I dove into my picture archive.

11/05/2008

I assume we celebrated Mother's Day at my parents.  We all look shockingly young.

There was also an artistic bird cage in which they did some concerts in the city center of Leuven.

We visted with the entire family my Australian Rotary host sister who had migrated to Geneva.  She took us on a boat to Yvoir at the edge of Geneva lake, where they celebrated a Venetian carnaval.  Gorgeous.

My baby belly started to show well for Kabouter whom we had just decided a name for while walking in downtown Geneva the day before.

Beertje chilling in the garden in the east of Belgium

11/05/2017

Apparently Beertje really needed a hair cut...and also needed a gate to prevent him from wobbling unsafely through the house.

Visiting Philadelphia with its famous historic Liberty Bell that would have rung when the Declaration of Independence was read in 1776.

this is a replica

I am cheating here but I noticed these marvellous family pictures from May 10th when we were still in Washington DC.

11/05/2019

Some family time in the east of Belgium on apparently a rainy day.  (and back in the day the neighbour boy came to visit us to play on our ipad)

11/5/2020

Pandemic times were puzzle times.

That week the boy's class mates decorated the streets whith chalk walk instructions and were then taking each other's walk through town. Very entertaining.

Just some pictures.

11/5/2022

I was returning to the Edinburgh airport after working a few days with my regional colleagues in the Scottisch office.

11/05/2023

I guess I sometimes take pictures of roof windows....because euh...well just because.

11/05/2024

A gorgeous sunny afternoon in the east of Belgium and returning home to catch a great sunset.

11/05/2025
Mother's Day...where I joined Kabouter for his confirmation preperations and treated myself with some quiet time in the sun.

In the afternoon I watched the CIRKL circus festival shows around the corner.
