VR The Park in Leuven
Since Kabouter has a birthday at the start of the school year and he just started in a new school without knowing anyone, his birthday has passed without a real party. He's so rational and polite about it, that he never really questioned this or whined about it.
But he made a nice group of new friends with whome he's on whatsapp calls all the time and where he has had many sleepovers at other friend's places. So he felt like inviting them over as well and I thought it was fun to finally meet some of his friends. Once they are off in high school, you don't really know the other kids or parents anymore, as a parent yourself.
And so after his exams were done, he went straight to a sleepover with friends, then to the beach with school and then we were having the boys over. In the midst of the code orange/ code red crazy heat wave. Fortunately his room has airco because he squeezed 4 boys into his room.
They spent a lot of time playing FIFA games in the cooler basement but I had booked them a VR game experience in Leuven, which is in the OHL soccer stade. So we braved the 38C outside to walk to OHL and go and play VR games. The website had advertised that there was airco in the room but that wasn't the case. Anyhow, 29C inside was still much better than almost 39 outside.
But the boys had fun and I saw them pushing invisible elevator buttons, jump from nowhere, catch flying invisible balloons, pick up unexsisting weapons and apparently battling strongly some robot army.
