Birthday cakes and parties

Previous weekend we went to celebrate Beertje's birthday with the family.

First we had a stop at his godmother where we had sushi, a beautiful personalized cake, presents and a lot of cousin's toys to play with.

We don't get to spend nearly enough time with my sister-in-law/ his godmother since they run a successful top bakery but it was exceptionally closed for vacation this weekend. Nevertheless there was a beautiful birthday cake for him...what else if you are at the source of bakery heaven?

We ate together, goofed a lot with hooters and balloons and singing cards. Lots of fun, except for Kabouter who was tired after a sleep-over with a friend and who had difficulty to accept that the party and presents were for his brother and not him.

We drove on to the care center where my father is currently living temporarily. In the cafetaria we built another small party with more cake   (help, I had too much) and some more presents. Beertje was proudly showing of his birthday crown with balloons which took a lot of attention from everyone walking by.
