We keep on turning #wedraaiendoor: Bill Withers - Ain't no sunshine
Each Tuesday and Thursday Anne from Satur9's World and myself, play a musical pingpong game where we choose a new music song based on each other's previous choice by association of a name, style, lyric, style, location or whatever crosses in our mind. We never know what the next song will be chosen and are forced to explore beyond our comfort zone due to each other's choices.
Anne chose a classic with Walk on by by Isaac Hayes. I was very very tempted to post the Chef with Chocolate salty balls.
The titel also reminded me with Dire straits - Walk of Life
But I explored more the lyrics of the song that seem to hide a lot of grief and sadness without willingness to share and discuss. It's hidden sadness and fake smiles.
So I explored more of such theme with the following options:
- Susan Vega - Luka
- Smokey Robison & the miracles: Tears of a clown
- Bill Withers - Ain't no sunshine
The latter is most close to the singing style of Isaac Hayes so here we go.
