Count your blessings - August 2022

  1. Breakfast on the terrace outside
  2. Bees on the lavender
  3. Vacation...a vast amount of vacation. A true long break.
  4. New mattresses
  5. A crazy cat chasing a toy mouse throughout the house, including giant tiger jumps across furniture
  6. Eating self-grown tomatoes
  7. Time to read books
  8. Pool-time
  9. Plucking wild raspberries along the fields on a walk
  10. Sleeping in my own wonderful bed again after being away
  11. Empathic doctors and anxiety pills
  12. Your car battery dying on the moment you want to leave on vacation in front of your door...and not eg on the first parking lot in a foreign country or so.
  13. Arriving on a destination after a long drive…doesn’t matter where or why, just the feeling that you have arrived and do not need to travel anymore. Getting out of that car and throwing your car keys in the corner.
  14. Hospitable hosts that share freshly harvested vegetables from their garden with you
  15. Cute dogs and a pup in the vacation destination
  16. A huge quite southern hot garden, with a pool
  17. Breakfast outside under the oak trees
  18. Bringing your own tiny pillows on vacation
  19. Little French towns with narrow roads, thick walled old houses with a few tiny windows and wooden closures, …
  20. Returning to the fabulous church of Vezelay and being in awe again
  21. A beach dinner at sunset
  22. A warm see, a warm pool, …yet refreshing in the heat. Walking around with wet hair.
  23. Airco rooms, what would I have done without them this summer
  24. Big thunderstorms with a few hours of rain that was so needed. No complaints that we’ve had rain during vacation
  25. A full month away of work, respected by all colleagues without interruptions
  26. Observing the children working in their summer books
  27. Playing games with the children
  28. Still having ripe tomatoes in the garden waiting for us after our return from our vacation
  29. A quick open class moment right when we arrive back from vacation ...a nice moment to quickly reconnect with school friends and teachers before the school starts
