Little surfer boys, fishers, and other beach fun

In De Panne this summer we were blessed with gorgeous warm weather so we spent the entire week on the beach without any other activities. In the mean time Jan and I just napped and were reading books and time flew by.

"Surfing"

The boys got a small board to play with in undeep water. Beertje monopolized the thing entirely instead of equally sharing with his brother. He really seemed to adore it. With his tan and his blonder hair, he was a true little surfer boy.

Playing in the dunes

I apologize to the other beach guests for the noise but the last days some boredom led them to discover the dunes as a war/ attack game zone with the loud accompanying noise of shooting ranges.  They returned completely covered in sand.

Petanque

Together with some other kids.

Reading
Mainly Kabouter joined us in reading some books.

Searching for shells and selling paper flowers

Here he was showing to my mother on a day's visit which type of shells we had to search as money for the paper flower business.  Together they searched for the valuable shells.

Just splashing

Ice cream eating

The daily Ola sales girls and boys pushing their carts through the sand found in us good customers.

Fishing for shrimp and crabs and tiny fish.
at low tide you could fish really well in the remaining puddles on the beach.  There was also stranded jellyfish saving actions.
