A winterwalk on the Botrange with friends

I don't think we've been spent so little time in the east of Belgium as the last months.  But finally we had time on our hands with the Christmas vacation.  Except for the holidays itself, we could hang out there.
Our friends contacted us if it was ok if they came along for a walk. Of course it is! I love visitors there.

We met up near the Botrange and went for an easy but nice hike along Belgium's highest point.

The wide view at the highest point with the countless windmills across the German border at the horizon.

Fagne Wallonne watching east

Belgium's highest point. 694m with a staircase of 6 m on top of it.

Behind the Signal de Botrange and the Centre de Nature de Botrange, most of the woods that we know so well have been clear-cut to give space to the boglands to connect and return.  Beautiful but I had to get used to it.

The bomb crater (here how it used to be in the forest)

I absolutely loved the winter sun light. It was gorgeous!

Sometimes we get the question if they are twins...I understand the question

We enjoyed a nice lunch at the Peak Brewery to finish off.

Mooi. Heel mooi.
Ooit komen wij ook eens af. En nu ben ik een beetje boos op mezelf, uitstellen is niet goed. Nu moet ik écht zeggen: ooit. Geen idee wat of wanneer of hoe.
