Count your blessings - May 2026

  1. A long and hot weekend to start the month with
  2. No plans in that first weekend but to enjoy that weekend in all laziness in the east of Belgium
  3. Catching up with my Canadian Rotary sister. Lots of time together to talk about everything.
  4. Being tourist in Leuven and in Limburg with my Canadian sister. Enjoying gorgeous weather and our beautiful spots together.
  5. The boys spending a great judo camp at the coast with the judo club
  6. Outplacement coaches being attentive to my emotions and checking in with me. How sweet
  7. Kidnapping my mom's old bicycle from a potential thrift market sale and giving it a new home myself. (after Beertje confiscated my own bike).
  8. Mother's Day flowers and gifts
  9. Attending 2 good Rotary activities
  10. Rainy predicted weekends that weren't so wet after all.
  11. After 3 months of physio which had started with my sore back in February , I finally have no more muscles acting up.  But I promise I'll continue my excercises dutifully.
  12. Painting my toenails...summer and sandals are ready!
  13. High fiving some cute enthousiast toddlers at a school gate when walking by. 
  14. Rediscovering 3rd Rock from the Sun on tv with Jan and Kabouter. Brilliant series.
  15. Spending a couple of days on a glorious sunny Pentacost weekend at the chill festival of Blues Peer with friends
  16. Relaxing in the quiet nature of Center Parcs before and after Blues Peer. Enjoying the shade there and the bird sounds from the garden of our cottage.
  17. A cool basement office during a heat wave
  18. Gazpacho soup during a heat wave
  19. Filling my flowerpots in the garden with lots of colorful flowers and getting our new tomatoplants for this summer.
  20. Running and hanging out for Levensloop 




This is a monthly list of simple things in my life that make me happy or that make me smile.
