At Blues Peer again (part 2)
On Sunday we returned to the festival for day 3 of Blues music in Peer. It was another hot day so we quickly positioned ourselves with our chairs in a shady spot on the field with our friends.
For some Blues Brothers it wasn't too hot though to wear a suit all weekend in the sun and to never sit down. Amazing man he is.
I had the impression I absorbed and enjoyed the music most on this 3rd day. Funny, usually by then I start to tune out. First I was impressed by this girl power of an impressive Laura Cox.
Devon Lamarr was amusing by his use of a little organ.
It's probably shamefull to admit but I had never heard of Tee and apparently he's an amasing Belgian blues band. Really good artists. Shame on me.
Devon Allman brought BB King's daugher in his band on stage!
Top of the bill was the incredible 93 year old Bobby Rush on stage. Man, I want to grow old like he does. What a legend. Mr blues.
By the time Robert Cray got on stage I was saturated with blues. I think I've seen them before and probably an awesome band but I lost my interest by now. We left back to the cottage where I put the boys in bed. Our friends were heading home too. But for me the line-up was nagging: The Scabs closed off the festival . It was late and I wanted to get my sleep. But we were here and I could go up and down by bike fairly quickly.
So yes late at night I decided to hop back on that bike and ride back through the little streets among the fields of Peer to the festival. I had a good light on the bike but had underestimated the blackness of the night and jsut the little light circle on the gravel road. Ok, I didn't feel too comfortable but I was glad I've done it.
Just on my own I pushed myself in the main tent to see the Scabs. Ah, always good Belgian classics. And with them a really good 3-day sunny blues festival in Peer got closed. Yeay.
