#duwmee: the result 2018

After half a year of increasing preparations, we approached the finale of our #duwmee charity walk last Saturday evening at sunset.   With a whopping 850 walkers, a parade with an impressive length, we all continued in the darkness decorated with Christmas lights. Even the fields in the area were decorated!









Just like last year we were welcomed by a drum band and soap bells before our final gathering when we went to the event island where the Studio Brussel DJ's were presenting in open air non stop for a week. 




We couldn't quite find a good spot in front of the stage with the children, but listened to it all from a distance while admiring the many flags and lamps we had brought it. The children had become quite tired but were taking it all in once we were at national radio/tv.  The volunteers on stage managed to take enough time to explain the Mobile Schools and our #duwmee charity walk. And then we learned we had broken another record: we had raised 51500,39 Euro's!!

Wow, ik ben onder de indruk. En een beetje ontroerd. Prachtig. Moet een enorm goed gevoel geven!

@Anne: dat geeft inderdaad een enorm goed gevoel. Tijdens de voorbereidingen al, als je al die helpende handen ziet en intussen de inschrijvingen die heel vlot blijven binnen lopen. Op de dag zelf, ben je eerder bezig met wat er moet gebeuren, met de kindjes die niet in de massa mogen verloren lopen en dan vat je het in feite niet allemaal.
Maar nadien dringt het wel door. Dit is ongelooflijk en prachtig. Dit geeft kippevel, telkens weer.

En dat kan je wellicht nog een hele tijd meedragen, dat goede gevoel, het kippevel, die trots. Zalig :-)
