Walking around Bruyères and Walk towards Robertville lake
Kabouter and I tried to convince the rest of the family last weekend to try our newly designed walk. But Jan picked up the map, studied it and decided to make a loop around our previous walk. I looked with some fear at the designed distance but didn't dare to speak up out loud as the little one would surely be discouraged by the numbers. So I just packed up some extra cookies and drinks in a backpack and off we left.
Walking by some left-over snow
But quite soon already we had to turn off our well-known nearby roads to discover a cute little trail with wooden "ladders" always much to the enthusiasm of the little legs.
Then we walked through the fields and surrounding villages to some viewpoints across the fields that gave view over the hidden lake valley and villages across
view on Ovifat at distance
Fun with village names
In Walk we had Beertje decide: return via the ruins or via the lake. He chose convincingly the lake even though it was probably a bit longer but the prospect of eating some cookies on a bench with view on the lake was sufficient. So off we went and the little boy kept up with us quite well until the end of this 10 km walk.
How cute it is to walk behind these 2
The further we went the more familiar these lake borders became and we could walk with our eyes closed back home.
And together with this walk to the source of the Warchenne, this was our 2nd nearly 10 km walk with our children. Cool to see how they are picking up distance.
