Father's Day

Past Sunday was father's Day. Finally the children could give their school crafts which they had hidden (quite publically) at different spots in the house to their father.   A nice frame, coasters, self-made wrapping paper, a poem, ...

We had returned on time from the east of Belgium to participate in the school's walk, which replaces the yearly school party of which the last one dates back to 2019 already.  We followed an itinerary loop of 6 kms around the school and had to search 10 decorated boxes. Each class had made their own box and it was installed at some student's houses that were on the itinerary.  The walk managed to go through a neighbourhood just nearby behind the school that neither Jan or me had ever visited. Funny.
But we also walked along our well-known abbey and the farm where we harvest our vegetables ...and along the ice cream shop of Beertje's classmate.

Choosing an ice-cream at Dseir to continue our walk.   Unfortunately Beertje who has a subscription to falling lately (and who has been blessed with a very battered face at the moment as a result of that), hopped on off some doorstep stairs and...smashed down with his ice-cream.  He's really out of luck but fortunately his dad got 2 bolls of ice-cream, so he shared with the little boy.  Good dad.

We made it just in time to continue walking to 't Seinhuis at the Heverlee train station to have a Father's Day dinner outside on the terrace with some good bistro classic's.  Kabouter worked last minute on the mean time on his first lecture that he must deliver this week in class.

I had managed to trip badly from the sidewalk just before our arrival at the restaurant so I had to limp gently back home after our dinner with a lightly sprained anckle. Ouch.  Beertje's bad luck seems contageous.
