School party 2022
The last school party dates back from 2019. But finally a new one could be planned and executed in a weekend mid-May where the entire universe seemed to have decided that all missed parties & events of the last 2 years had to be caught up. Seriously, we had the choice of 8 parties/events in 1 weekend...clearly we said no most of the time but we had to go to the school of course. Beertje had only lived through 2 school parties so far.
The weather was glorious. As usual the school parties at the boys' school are very chill: there are many games for the children, bouncing castles, make-up etc but there are no shows to be performed. The local street got closed off as well and included in the party domain now that part of the school is closed off and under reconstruction. The parents can just sit together in the large school garden next to the temporary class tents, socialize with a drink and chill...and volunteer for some shifts at the drink stands or so. A great afternoon for all involved.
And our dirty boys sure enjoyed their bath afterwards :D
