Back from ski-camp
I missed Kabouter the entire spring vacation, since he joined some friends on a Kazou ski camp in Switzerland. After our successful ski vacation as a family, he was very enthusiastic to take the opportunity to go on a camp that his friends had already talked about the year before.
Leaving gave him a lot of excitement but also stress as it was a new adventure to get on a night buss and leave on a camp abroad. But I felt so nostalgic, since I have so many great memories of Kazou camps myself (as participant and as youth leader). So I trusted he'd have a blast. Just so sad to be the mom staying at home ;).

The goodbye:
All week it was silent except for this group picture that appeared on Facebook. We knew they had splendid weather but their smiles were radiating even more.
And this weekend I could go and wave at the incoming busses to pick up our sleepy boy who announced upon decending "that he was going again next year". It already sounds he has his mom's Kazou bug and will beat my scarf collection in the future. And his enthousiast ski and snow stories even make us consider to return to the mountains as a family ...we'll see.
