A sunny spring walk at Belgium's highest point

 

Unlike the Christmas vacation where we were stuck inside with dreadful weather and sick children, the shorter spring vacation treated us with some nice sun.  Right after the carnaval parades, we headed to the top of Belgium to stroll over the boglands again in the first spring sunshine and it felt marvellous...Open jackets, blue skys and happy children.  

We tend to park at the Centre de Nature de Botrange, which ensures we start our walk with a climb and we end with the descend from the signal the Botrange back to our car.  

Fortunately our winter hasn't been too dry so all creeks were running much to Beertje's delight. 

Climbing up to the boglands along reminders of the ice times. 

Enjoying the vast space, the broad views on Belgium's rooftop plateau and the game of sunlight. 

Well this is the type of walks that reloads my batteries and makes me happy.
